Oklahoma City Thunder player Kevin Durant became the
second youngest player ever to score 10,000 points in the NBA, according to a Nov.
1 report from the OKC Thunder.
Just after Durant scored the basket that helped
him go over the 10,000 point mark, the team posted on its Facebook page,
KD has 23 points tonight. He's now passed the
10,000 point mark for his career. 2nd youngest player in NBA history to get
there.
The milestone would have been even sweeter if the
Spurs hadn't scored a last second basket to beat the Thunder in their first
game of the 2012/2013 season. The Spurs took the game 86 to 84 in a clutch two-point shot
from Tony Parker.
Even with the loss, Kevin
Durant and the Thunder are off to a fabulous NBA season after making it to
the Finals last year. There are some that think the young OKC player can even
become the MVP this year instead of LeBron James. Hitting his 10,000 point
milestone is certainly a good step towards earning that title. Of course,
LeBron James was the youngest player to ever hit 10,000 points in his career.
While OKC fans are still sad about losing James
Harden, they certainly have lots to look forward to this season.
